At Rahila Labs, our Department of Microbiology specializes in the analysis of a wide range of clinical specimens to accurately detect infectious microorganisms and determine the most effective antimicrobial treatments.

We utilize advanced blood culture systems to identify the presence of bacteria and fungi with high sensitivity and reliability. For rapid and precise microbial identification, state-of-the-art mass spectrometry–based technology (MALDI-TOF) is employed, enabling accurate organism detection within a significantly reduced turnaround time.

Anaerobic infections are diagnosed using specialized anaerobic culture systems, ensuring comprehensive detection of both aerobic and anaerobic pathogens. To effectively address the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance, we perform and report Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) testing, allowing clinicians to select targeted and effective antibiotic therapy based on the identified organism.

Routine urine analysis is carried out on fully automated analyzers capable of high-throughput testing, delivering precise and consistent results through advanced technologies such as digital imaging, flow cytometry, photometric analysis, and AI-assisted identification.

With a strong focus on quality and accuracy, our microbiology department processes and reports a high volume of culture and sensitivity tests each year, supporting clinicians with dependable diagnostic insights for effective patient management.
